When I was up at my parents house Lexie and Ethan went to a place called Grandpa's Farm. It was M-F from 9-1 and they learned all about farm animals and how to take care of them. Every morning when everyone first got there they went on a tractor ride around the farm. Then they were broken up into their groups and each day did a different activity; i.e wash the animals, feed the animals, clean out the stalls, exercise the goats. They did a craft, ate lunch, and rode the ponies everyday. Lexie became a pro or so she thought. Each day they cut a different animal's toes, and had pig races. It was fun filled four hour camp and Lexie loved it. She was very sad when it was over and she couldn't go back. One of the things I thought was funny was that she wore her "farm clothes" and got all dirty and loved interacting with all the animals but as soon as she walked through the door at our house she was stripping down and running to put on a dress so she could be a princess again.
Running to the tractor on the first day.
Lexie feeding the turkey
Cutting the toenails on the ferret (Joshua wanted to be right there)
Whenever I took or picked up Lexie, Joshua loved just running around. He especially loved feeding the animals. He would dig in the dirt until he found little pebbles to feed them. He didn't realize until the third day that Lexie had food and he just needed to get it from her. He also loved riding all the bikes that were around. He truly just ran from one activity to the next. It was so HARD to keep track of him and at the same time get pictures of Lexie.
Joshua had just fed one of the ponies and was so proud of himself.
Jagger (a friend who went with them), Ethan and Lexie on the last day tired and worn out. On the last day we were told to have the kids wear pants. I didn't pack any for Lexie since it was suppose to be hot all week and so she is wearing a pair of Ethan's old pants. She was seriously preparing for a flood with them.
